THE BLESSING OF CORRECTION

Heb 12:5 "And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him; 6 for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives." 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons."

One of the greatest blessings a loving Father can provide for His beloved child is to correct them. Because Our Heavenly Father understands the right path and sees the dangers ahead, He corrects us in love, so that we will be able to share in His nature and blessings and not be snared by the many deceptions that so many have fallen into!

It is possible to for us to respond in the wrong way to God's loving discipline, and not benefit from it at all! We are warned above not to despise God's correction nor faint (give up) when he corrects us, but to "endure" the discipline of our Father, knowing that it is for our good, and that we will be better for it!

It is important also for us to distinguish between the correction of the Father and the attack of the Devil! The Adversary comes with accusation and unbelief; he comes try to "steal, kill and destroy" the good things God is doing in us, and to separate us from trusting the Father. But Father God, always brings correction with grace, in order to turn us from that which is wrong, and to lead us by faith into that which is good and right!

It may not feel good at the time, but God's correction always leads us to repentance and teaches us the good and the right way in Christ! The correction of our Father leads to LIFE, and Life more abundantly! Sin and error in us steals our life and brings depression. But the Life of Jesus frees and empowers us to live a life of Peace and Victory!

Have you been attacked of Satan? Resist Him in steadfastly in the faith, speaking aloud the Word of God and holding up God's Word as a shield! Or, Are you being corrected by the Father? Humble yourself and pray, asking the Father to help you to learn the lessons He is trying to teach you and draw closer to Him in His love for you!

REMEMBER - "God disciplines us to help us so that we can be holy like him. 11 We don't enjoy discipline when we get it. It is painful. But later, after we have learned our lesson from it, we will enjoy the peace that comes from doing what is right." Heb 12:10
